What is Life Coaching?

Life coaching is a purposeful conversation that inspires you to create the life you want, using powerful questions to facilitate you in finding your own answers.  

Life Coaching and Personal Development - using coaching to look across all areas of your life to improve your general well being and sense of purpose. Life coaching can help you get your life on track, improve work/life balance, or help you make personal changes in your perspective and level of satisfaction with your life. Life Coaching looks at each aspect of your life that is important to you. These could be: family, work, relationships, health, fitness, finances, life/work balance, spirituality, having fun, personal growth, hobbies and interests, or anything else that is important to you.

How does life coaching differ from therapy or counselling?

Coaching is centred around the client; whereas advising tends to be based on the beliefs, values and opinions of the advisor. In this respect a coach is most certainly not an advisor. The coach's role, and the coaching concept, is to help the other person find their own solutions, not to have them follow an advisor's recommendations or suggestions. This is a fundamental principle.  Therapy tends to be post crisis, this is not the case with life coaching, coaching helps with the present and the future.


Where do sessions take place and how?

You will meet with your coach on a schedule you have agreed, but probably fairly regularly, and you will engage with your coach in a dialogue focussed on you and your desires. Coaching sessions can be intense and demanding, and require focus and commitment. Coaching not only will help you with a single issue or goal, it will bring you to new levels of awareness in many areas and contexts.  Sessions will take place at your home or my office in Brize Norton.  Coaching can be done by phone as well as face to face so whatever suits your needs, these will be discussed in the initial consultation.


How often do I have a session?  

This will be dependent on your needs and requirements and usually ascertained in your first session but most clients find that 1 session a week is a good starting point.  This can then go to once a fortnight, month or even just the occasional 'top up' session to help you maintain your good work.


How much is coaching?

Initially I feel that an initial consultation/informal chat is required to ascertain needs and requirements and answer any questions.  This initial consultation generally takes about twenty minutes usually via email or phone.  The first session is then booked during that consultation, after the first session then discounts are available for block booking in advance.
